We don't agree with CNN Travel that Hong Kong is the best city in the world. But Shenzhen? After all Shenzhen is just another mainland city that can never get its English signs right and whose traffic becomes a nightmare everyday from 4:30 to 8. But don't come too soon to conclusions--Shenzhen's unique vibrancy is one that you could only see with your own eyes.

Rejuvenated Sea World

If you are a resident of Shekou, that jewel of Nanshan, you will notice that Sea World is looking better than ever. The area is once again becoming a destination for people living in the wider Shenzhen area. Rejuvenated, in fact. That’s because in the past year or so the area was blocked off from view by large steel panels. The heavy machinery moved in and the once-vibrant atmosphere in the square was obliterated by the hell of jackhammers pounding for 24 hours a day.
