Fourth of July 2012 at Frankie's
Event Date:
Jul 4 2012

For the first time in memory, Southern China saw a true, proper, authentic celebration of American Independence Day, hosted by the brand-new American-operated bar in Shenzhen's Futian District, Frankie's.  Adam, Nate, Jordan, and Frank (the Americans at Frankie's) decided that they would cure their own expat blues with a night of Budweiser and bourbon, American music standards, and a traditional "cookout"-style meal of burgers and dogs, potato salad, baked beans, and corn-on-the-cob.  As it turned out, the rest of the Shenzhen expat community showed up in force, too, leading to an unforgettable night. How do start an Online store selling in China?

Is Taobao the only way to go if I have some products to sell in China?

Or rather, now I have a product, i.e. food, confectionary, dietetics and diabetics foodstuff products.

How should I start to sell them on a small micro scale in my area?

By the way, my first post here. My name is Roger Huang and I am from Singapore.

Craving Canadian Cuisine - Anyone has a good lead on good eats? =D

I've only been away from home for just over half-a-year but I am craving some Canadian Food (Steak, Ribs, Poutine, Beaver-Tails, Maple Syrup Cocktails or Desserts, and Waffles!)

Does anyone know any place in Shenzhen where I can satisfy my cravings? I'd love for you to join as well and I can indulge you in answering any questions and more importantly disproving many unfortunate stereotypes of my lovely country.

Looking forward to the replies! :) (Stomach grumbles)

Community Vans to Sell Cheap Food in Shenzhen

THREE hundred vans will serve the city's 900 residential communities selling cheap vegetables and other fresh farm produce starting tomorrow to offset food price hikes, the Farm Produce Co. Ltd. said yesterday.

The produce, from Pinghu Haijixing International Agricultural Produce Logistics Park that opens today, will be sold at prices 20 to 30 percent lower than those at supermarkets and community stores, said Peng Jianping, a company spokesman.

It is a new service subsidized by the city government to help residents deal with sharp increases in food prices. Subsidies will be given to the operators of the vans.

Each van can hold 1 ton of produce, including meat, vegetables, eggs and fruit. Their service hours will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Read more »
