At long last there is genuine Israeli restaurant in town serving authentic Israeli foods.

The most noticeable feature in the spacious Ahava is the big clay oven for bread and hummus. Actually before I could spot this down-to-earth over, which I later learned was made to authentic Israeli specification, I had already been overwhelmed by the forever inspiring aroma of bread in the making. For me it could beat even Chanel No. 5 anytime.

Naturally I went straight for the bread, served with an array of dips, which reminded me why I’m always fascinated by, say, Korean and Indian cuisines. All because of this assortment of dips. As I had not had lamb for quite a while, so I ordered a lamb kebab skewer, which turned out to be superb. The meat was juicy and chewy while the taste is simply fantastic. It had to do with the variety of herbs and spices, not found in your run-of-the-mill restaurants.

Master Chef Mr. Itzik Chef Yotam
By the time I finished the lamb kebab, I realized that I had already eaten much more than my normal intake of food for lunch. I was tempted by the dessert on offer, but enough is enough. Told myself I would come again next time for the dessert. For now, a glass of iced lemon tea would suffice.
Ahava also has menus for children. They also have private areas for groups and even business meetings, as well as party menu, which is based on a minimum of 10 persons. Party menu includes hummus, chips, a Jerusalem mix, lamb and assorted chicken skewers and drinks all for 140 RMB per person.
