Hennessy XO Price Increased 60% in Shenzhen

Shenzhen Daily, Li Hao reported that "THE price of imported Hennessy XO in Shenzhen has risen by 60 percent in the past year, according to a report in yesterday’s Daily Sunshine.

“The price of a 700-mililiter bottle was only 1,098 yuan (US$174) for each bottle last January, and it jumped to 1,798 yuan within one year,” said an unidentified spirit seller at Jusco in CocoPark in Futian District.

The seller said the price of a 700-milliliter bottle of Hennessy XO fluctuated almost every month since September. The peak was 2,198 yuan per bottle.

Despite the sharp increase in the price, local consumers have been rushing to buy the spirit as the Spring Festival approaches, triggering a short supply, the paper said."
