Shenzhen Daily reported that "SHENZHEN will recruit 10,000 police in the next few years as the city faces a grave social security situation due to an increasing transient population, the city’s police chief said Monday.
About 19,000 officers are serving the city with a population of 15.56 million, Li Ming, chief of the local public security bureau, said on the sideline of the annual meeting of the city’s advisory body Monday. Of the total population, 12.85 million living here are not long-term residents."
