Yantian Foreign Language School was founded in September; 2004. It was established by the government of the Yantian District with high goals and standards. The school occupies 4,045,790 square meters and the built-up area is 2,687,801 square meters. There are 36 classes of about 1,500 students. The school is located near the scenic Da Meisha and possesses an advantaged beautiful environment.
Our School is built and equipped to the first provincial standard. There are LCD projector multimedia teaching platforms, a broadband network, gymnasium, multi-media multi-function, speech classroom, science and technology activity room, computer room, craft room, reading room, Yinti Mei classrooms, counseling rooms, dance studio and other physical equipment and facilities, specifically first-class facilities such as the 400-meter standard plastic track and field, all-weather standard artificial turf soccer pitch, all-weather solar assisted hot water gas. These industrial systems are configured to meet the needs of modern education.
During the past five years, the school has reached great achievements in building excellent teaching faculty and English teaching. Now the English characteristic mode of “stratification +mini class” “1+N”, “English +bilingual” “dominant+recessive” have been formed. At present, there are 108 faculty members. Among them, there are 91 professional teachers, 2 special-grade teachers, 30 advanced teachers, 16 principal directors of some subjects in the district and even the city. Altogether, we have had 7 foreign teachers who have worked at the school. Among the teachers, 18 have taken part in the overseas education training. One hundred percent of teachers take part in the professional training of middle school teachers’ further education. Bachelor’s degrees have been achieved by all. And seven teachers have attained a master’s degree; and six teachers are currently undertaking their postgraduate education. These teachers provide full support for the school’s high –quality and balanced education.
The school carries out the cultivation goal of having the personal specialties as well as the comprehensive qualities. Not only should they adapt to the life-long education, but also adapt to the future development. After class, there are different kinds of clubs and activities. Through different programs, students can be removed from books and homework to realize the five unities: such as the harmoniousness and unity of knowledge and ability, intelligence and personality, basic class and progressive class, eastern traditional morals and modern humanistic spirit and the physical health and psychological health. The school hopes to improve the students’ comprehensive qualities and realize the goal of overall development. At present, there are clubs, like chorus, dancing club, school band, broadcasting station, literary parties and so on.
