Any teacher considering

Any teacher considering working at Nanshan Bilingual School.....one word. DON'T. That school is the worst. The principle rules by fear and greed. As a foreign teacher there, your life will be hell.

how do you justify this

how do you justify this statement of yours?
did you teach in its Cambridge International Centre?
if i am not mistaken the director of CIC - SNBS has been hired because of his awesome track records and experience
care to comment, boss?

if i am not mistaken the

5

if i am not mistaken the director of CIC - SNBS has been hired because of his awesome track records and experience, you are correct on that point. However, the school's principle has taken all the director's power away. why? The principle is has no idea or care not for the wellbeing of the students or teachers, he cares about one thing......money. Just look at the condition of the school. Look at how the teachers are treated. Are the teachers there paid to scale? No. Do the students receive correct marks on their exams? No. The school is a scam. Anyone who works there or puts their child there needs to have their head examined. The CIC is run okay. But the rest of the school really sucks. Go check it out. See for yourself.

I worked at the school 1 1/2

I worked at the school 1 1/2 years the school is a basic Chinese school. Keep everybody happy and get the money which is a normal business in China. Nobody is accountable for the children s education yet, but the time is coming. The parents are getting smarter they want the best there money can buy for their children. But as a teacher I don't care what the admin, think I care about teaching the children the best way I can, My students there went from the bottom to the top of the class. But you are right the admin. office politics/BS are very bad thats why I stopped working there. They need to learn to leave the teachers alone to do their jobs instead of playing games with them.

Its the same all over

Its the same all over Asian....teachers make the difference most companies or schools just want to rob the parents. Unfortunately, this takes a toll on teachers too, and especially if they are here for a short time...they tend to give up caring and just try to pass the time...and make as much money without doing much. I've worked in Japan, Korea and China..by far the parents are a little smarter here than in Korea, but the schools are GARBAGE HERE.

I taught at Shenzhen Royal Kindy they charge 6000 rmb a month tuition per kid 25 kids in a class and the teachers there are not even all native English speakers; Russian, German, Israeli, Colombian...Although they do try there best! But realistically, Im not attacking the teachers but if I was paying that much class should be smaller and the teachers need to know the language!

Japan: tuition 1000 US a month 10 kids per class
Korea: tuition 550 US a month 10 kids per class
China: Tuition between 500-900US 24 Kids per class???????WTF GREEDY isn't only green I guess!

are/ were you a teacher at

are/ were you a teacher at that school? though you are right about the principle...

are/were you a teacher at

are/were you a teacher at that school? you're right about the principle

externityzxz is correct.

externityzxz is correct. Nanshan bilingual school looks satisfying from the outside but on the inside it's like hell. The principle doesn't bother to repaint the school. He only cares about MONEY. He treats a lot of the teachers badly. Recently the school has started a new class for middle school students. It's called the 'Checkpoint class'. That class is for students who won't be attending high school in China. The principle has threatened the foreign teachers who teach the Checkpoint class that if students fail the next exam, he will separate the Checkpoint class and lower the teachers' salary. Last semester the principle told the school that the school that the Checkpoint class would be all in English, well it's not, more than half of the lessons are in Chinese and if students don't do well in these Chinese subjects, teachers put a lot of pressure on students.
The school food is disgusting. In primary teachers force students to eat everything on their plate, and if they don't the get punished. The school food isn't pleasant, many students have puked from the food and got sick. There were even insects in the school food. Before the school chefs cook the food, they put the vegetables outside and just leave it there. When they do, they just let insects eat the food, then they give it to students. The school kitchen is dirty.
The school wastes too much time. In the morning, they waste almost an hour, teachers say we must be at school by 8:20 a.m. but classes begin at 9:00 a.m. At lunch we get 40 minutes to eat. Which is about from 12:00 p.m. till 12:40 p.m. Then from then, we have a time session called 'nap time' . That lasts till about 2:00 p.m. At nap time we must stay in the class room. We cannot even go out to buy a drink from the cafeteria. At nap time a lot of time can be wasted, everyone just plays and talks. If the school could just give maybe about half an hour to rest after lunch and start lesson. That way, middle school and high school could finish earlier.
Recently as you all know, there is H1N1. The school rule is if students have a fever over 37 degrees they must be sent home with no question. But a class in this school had three students who got sick with a fever and got sent home. After (on the same day) more students got sick and got fevers over the limit, but those students couldn't go home. Even with half the class with colds, the teacher wouldn't allow students with bad colds and with fevers to go home.
Also the school has suddenly decided that they would no longer accept Korean students any more, which can be a problem since many Korean parents send their kids to that school for some reason. And international schools are too expensive.

So if you're thinking about going to that school, my suggestion is to maybe talk with some teachers and ask what they think about the school system.

No, I don't work at the

No, I don't work at the school. I never will.

I agree with xiaosnergy. Some

I agree with xiaosnergy. Some teachers even pick on foreign students when they're on a bad mood. Most foreign students don't know chinese and teachers threaten them or embarrass them right infront of the whole class. They should not treat students that way.

yes its very well to hear

yes its very well to hear from you so great critique of stuff boards restrictions in your school, and a messy money holding...I will be there, so hope will be posssible correct it for all students and teachers too ;-) take care,
sincerely
Peter Kocak- Jin En

xiaosnergy, thanks for

xiaosnergy, thanks for speaking out. Someone needed to do it a long time ago. I was not aware that a place even existed, or I would have added to this a long time ago. Something needs to be done about this school and the way they have ripped teachers off and bullied them for the past few years. What to tell the truth.

xiaosnergy's comment is right

4

xiaosnergy's comment is right on! I worked at Shenzhen/Nanshan just long enough to see a school with a lot of potential go down the toilet. I entered the school as a professional foreign teacher. I was among many that was bullied and ripped off of promised monies. My entire last month's pay and travel allowance was kept by the school only because I refused to work for them any longer. I was only one of the teachers that this happened to. Don't waste your time even appling for a job at this place and if you really are interested in getting a good English education for that child you love, find a different school. I have since worked at other schools in China and have found a totally different leadership and quality of education. All the other schools I have worked for are extremely kind, professional, and really care for the students and the educational standard. It really broke my heart to see Nanshan Bilingual School and what they are doing to the students and teachers there. I witnessed the mass exodus of the director and over half of the foreign teachers in just one semester. I have friends that tried to live through the whole mess. Save your time and your money and find a better school.

you're thinking about

you're thinking about teaching at the school? if you do.... your life will be hell =p

yeah, lately a teacher has

3

yeah, lately a teacher has picked on some students in a class since she was not in a good mood. It's true, some teachers have threatened some classes that they would give up on their class if they don't do well. A teacher told a class that they are useless and can't do anything. Teacher punish students for no reason, a student has done nothing wrong and he/she could still get punished depending on their teachers mood. The teachers don't treat everyone equally. Even though it's hard to treat all students fairly, they don't even try. They treat foreigner students badly, they treat students who can't catch up with teachers badly. And with all that going on in the school, the principle doesn't care. He expects everyone to look up to him.

yes, something needs to be

yes, something needs to be done about the school. The school should be sued for the kind of food they give to students. They give students food which is suitable for farm animals. A lot of teachers have quit because of the way the principle teats teachers, especially foreign teachers. He threatens them and fires really good teachers. He has once fired one the the schools best foreign teachers. The teachers at the school also treats foreign students badly. The whole school is a mess. The principle has a great amount of greed for money. He says he cares about the students education, but he doesn't. Like whatstrue said, don't even think about enrolling at that school, if you want to teach at a nice school in shenzhen, try some of the international schools. Like QSI or SIS. I guarantee you that it's better than Nanshan Bilingual. Even if the principle promises you that he will give you a certain amount of salary, he's just lying, he will rip you off if you don't satisfy him.

Yes,don't waste your time in

Yes,don't waste your time in this school. Don't waste money. Don't spend your time in hell. They only care about money and the student's education. They want students to get a perfect score ,even foreign students so then their school will be one of best schools in shenzhen. A lot of parents who loves their kids got fooled by that. Education is not the most important, what is most important is that you're healthy and you enjoy your life. The school gives too much pressure on the students. Most students will get tired and they will automaticly will have no interest in learning. Some foreign students that didn't score an A's on Chinese was insulted by the teacher because he/she did not score what the teacher wanted. This was not fair and the teacher read the score outloud right infront of the whole class to embarass this student. The principle never says anything about it. The school hired a new english teacher which the students didn't really like and there was this nice foreign teacher who was teaching primary and middle school but got fired because of no reason. The students all liked this teacher because he was fair and he was really nice to students. I think like the school fired this teacher because the students did not like the new one but it got even worse, the students hated the new one even more. They had no interest in learning English anymore.

Well... the schools education

Well... the schools education system is all wrong. Memorize this, memorize that. Everyone does the exact same thing. A lot of the teachers make a lot of children miserable. They basically brainwash a young child's mind. No imagination is used. Imagination and creativity doesn't exist there. They don't know what those two words mean. A young foreign child going to that school end in results with destroying that child's mind. The school fee is really expensive. Nanshan/ Bilingual is a bilingual school, there are meant to be about four classes that are bilingual. There aren't even enough lessons in English for the school to be called a bilingual school. As for the checkpoint class, they have exactly the same amount of classes in English only they have about one to two classes in English more than bilingual classes. Checkpoint class students pay more, the principle tricked parents again. Even the education they give in chinese is mostly all useless. There aren't enough classes in English. The whole school is a fraud. It's wasting time spending time there. The principle tells new foreign teachers who are about to teach at the school that the school is very high standard. Though from a rating of 1-10 (as one being bad and 10 satisfying) the result is between 1 and 4. The school is a fraud, no matter what the principle says to you, don't agree to teach there. The school won't change for a long time.

Welcome to China.... Most

Welcome to China.... Most schools are after the money with no accountability.
So try and fix it don't complain about the obvious. Or do you think the bosses will change it?

I agree.

I agree.

well, ive been to that school

well, ive been to that school also, just visit not teach there, and ive heard a lot of those things about what you are saying. Are you referring to the principal when you were saying principle? hehehe, thats two different thing man. I dont want to be one sided, and of course this is china, they can do whatever they want, ive met a lot of students and teachers who went to that school also and theyve told me a lot of those things that you were saying. Man yours is a little bit over board, i have a friend that also worked there and i think they are still there, just to tell you , they are doing really great until now, and they are liked by the teachers as well as the students. and its basically true that if you are capable and that you are really workin your ass really hard just to keep and maintain your job, maybe a lot of those teachers there who were fired might still be keeping their teaching jobs until now instead of mocking and cursing and destroying the schools reputation and credibility. Actually i dont really know the people inside that school, but i know some of the teachers, some of my friends there are gone. They told me they finished their contract and was not renewed. Its the schools discretion man, i am not chinese but its not because your white or caucasian or anything you are already good in teaching english, not everybody man. if im the owner of that school i would have probably done the same thing. Id look for the best teachers and i would not stop until i find them and then definitely i will fire the ones who are incapable of teaching. I agree with the food quality that they have, i tried and tasted their food several times but i think its not that bad, because i havent heard that a single student died because of the meal they serve.

i heard that one of the

i heard that one of the students who ate the food fell ill and got sick after that...the food is crap.they feed it to pigs too

yeah, it's true. Someone ate

yeah, it's true. Someone ate the food they served and got sick. I'm not sure who though, but that person was sick for quite a while. The food is fot for pigs, they give the food to pigs too. Also in the school kitchen the chefs keep a ginuea pig in there.

The food is dirty and the new rule is that sutends are
1) not allowed to brign lunch to school
2) not allowed to bring SNACKS to school
3) not allowed to dye/curl your hair (lol?!?!?)

so students are meant to starve if they can't eat the school food.(unless they are very cunning and smart ^^)

@ samm0808 acctually,

@ samm0808 acctually, teachers get different food from students. The teachers usually get something nice so what you must've tried is the teachers food... " thats two different things man".....
ok...if u really dont know for sure youself, dont go saying people are going overboard.

wow samm0808 i dun get how u

wow samm0808 i dun get how u eat that lol...u must have a very goooooood digestive system!! =P

The stuff xiaosnergy and

The stuff xiaosnergy and externityzxz are saying are true. The school is a fraud... if you are thinking about getting a job there, DON'T. Well, most students don't have a choice to go there or not.

wow, just reading what you

wow, just reading what you people wrote makes me feel sick. What kind of school is it..... it sounds so bad. I don't think anyone there would be happy.

Hello...i'm sending my kids

Hello...i'm sending my kids to that school but I thought it would be a nice place for my kids but... I've never knew that this school was like this. Thank you for telling me about this school xiaosnergy or else if I really sent them there, I would waste my kid's time and my money...

yea well umm no problem... i

yea well umm no problem... i think you made the right choice. Internation school prices are very high and im not sure about other schools with english/chinese. So good luck finding a school.

Can anyone tell me if Nanshan

2

Can anyone tell me if Nanshan Bilingual School is the same as the Nanshan Foreign Language School? Is there perhaps a Nanchen Foreign Language School?

If not, can anyone comment about the Nanshan Foreign Language School?

    In defense of Nanshan

In defense of Nanshan Bilingual School

I am always saddened by the negativity in human nature and the ease at which people criticize others or organizations. I have a vast experience in education which includes the privilege of serving as Principal in a number of schools. I have yet to find the so called ‘Perfect School’ or ‘Perfect Organization’. Let’s face facts; we all can find something wrong with; where we work, the way others treat us, those closest to us, if we look hard enough. It is easy to criticize.

I myself am an optimist by nature and look for the good. I have been at Nanshan Bilingual School now for 9 months and I find it difficult to understand those that have criticized the school or their motives for doing so. My experience has been very rewarding. The staff are diligent, hard working, very knowledgeable in their areas of expertise and totally committed to the students. To the point where they often provide additional classes and tuition (cost free) in their own time.

The students are friendly, respectful and trying to do their best to make their parents proud. Many of the students have a clear direction in their lives and they know what they want. The school provides a wide variety of curriculum areas and elective programs for students to pursue their interests.

I have been treated very well by the management of the school, who has an open mind about shaping the school in a way that fully prepares its students for their future lives either here or abroad. We are all focused on preparing them for success in their future study and lives.

Every establishment has its faults, simply because we are human. As I said earlier I have been in education all my life and I believe Shenzhen Nanshan Bilingual School to be a very good caring school.

Finally I would like to finish by reminding foreigners that we are just that. We are the foreigners here. This means that it is us who need to be flexible and accepting of the way they do things here in China. In my experience it is the intolerance of foreign people that creates most of the negativity that surrounds many of the problems they encounter. They forget that we are but guests here.

One would wonder how much

1

One would wonder how much you're paid to suck up?! Just 9 months and you think it's paradise. It is but only UTOPIA! You would be a precious gem only when you could be exploited. Once no more blood could be squeezed from stone, you'll not be worth even a penny. Wake up!

As for the diligent, hardworking, knowledgeable and committed experts, I wonder if they are foreign or local. If t's the latter, it's easy to understand why: FEAR!

I just got fired there for

1

I just got fired there for forgetting to erase the board after class. The headmaster walks around after each period and checks all the classrooms. Also, desks and chairs must be lined up or else you get written up. Most days I had to stay until 7 or 8 to mark the homework. Unmarked homework will get you written up too. It's really hard to teach there. Every day you've got to line up with the students on the football field to do exercises. Now it's quite hot. Also, all new teachers are required to inspect/clean the restrooms twice a day. Sometimes it's more than I could stand. So I think my firing is a blessing. I know many foreign teachers hate working there. It's not a school really, just a money maker. Good luck to any fool who goes to this school.

I am not making this up

1

I am not making this up either. Ask any teacher there. Just stop by and ask. Good luck and God bless.

Something like that is

3

Something like that is actually really possible in that school. The headmaster is really harsh. RARELY there will be a good class in the year... If you're lucky, you might be able to teach the good class.

I also want to say that the

1

I also want to say that the headmaster made us give students inflated marks. We were told that this was to encourage students to work hard and to feel good about themselves. But I think it does the opposite. I think it makes students lazy. Why work hard if you don't have to work hard to get an "A"?

There often competetions

3

There often competetions around Nanshan that the beruals make(so they get the scores). Then the scores are usually announced and other people will get to see which school has the highest marks.... The headmaster will use bribery/threaten teachers...

What world are you living in?

2

What world are you living in? You think they're treating you well? they use people... if you have read above, some teachers weren't even paid. The school is a fruad like everyone said before... teachers are teachers and student are students... they arent treated equally... and you may be a foriegn teacher, they are treated better than the chinese teachers. Foriegn teachers don't know how the students are actually treated.. The teachers MUST give additional classes or because the "fear" the headmaster.

Can you even tell if the above are critisism or personal opinions??

This school is a joke because

1

This school is a joke because its principal is a jerk.

I know it's really easy to be negative in life (and especially about work), but I will not defend that school management in any ways. I worked there, I saw dedicated local and foreign teachers. But where all falls appart is at the top; the greedy clown of a principal.

Their Cambridge CIC is a hoax - it's just a way of using a famous name to attract new students. They don't know how to implement the program and the (very qualified) foreign director in charge of that resigned and left because the clown would not leave him any executive/decision power.

To parents considering this school: teachers are instructed to make their tests/exams easy so that nobody fails. ---> the clown cannot afford to lose the money from a failing student... If you don't complain and inquire about your kid's education, nothing will be done about it because the clown only wants to save is money and his face. But when you do complain, please do so with the teachers in mind because the clown will be on their cases....big time! For him, teachers are all disposable commodity and are always the ones to blame.

Teachers considering working there: forget it! Would you like to work in an environnement where nothing is planned ahead? Where everything is dropped on you at the last minute like a pile of s___? Where the big boss is using threats like deducting your pay if you don't do the 'good slave teacher' or even cancelling your working visa?

Buildings falling appart, no proper work equipment, food quality/safety, fake everything to save the face(and money), .... I could go on and on because again: this school is a joke. And I worked at ohers schools in China so I'm not the bad foreigner not willing to adapt to China's ways about education...

A last one just to show you how useless the principal is: very last meeting of the school year with foreign and local teachers in the room with the clown. He went on and on with stories of his life and how he has learned English on his own (and that shows - beleive me) and all bla blah bla bs... Then comes the blames directed at the teachers, finger pointing and a speech clear intended at making everyone pittyful. NEVER, never once during that meeitng he took the time to say good thing about the teachers. Not a simple "thank you" to his staff, not a "job well done", nor a "we did good for the kids education"; not even a "we did OK but we will improve" nada!!

This just goes to prove that the clown is just what he is: a clown with no management skills and no pedagogy skills either. So that brings me back to why would anyone let their kid go learn there and why would anyone want to work there?

Now you know!

I worked there once and all I

1

I worked there once and all I have to say is that they need to fire all the family members and friends that are running the place into the ground. Then they could hire some people that know what they are doing. It is a nightmare. If you are working there now, just keep your head down and get your paycheck. You can't do anything to improve such a pathetic situation. The management have no morals, respect for people or sense of duty. The school is just a means of profit for them, a cash-cow.

This school is a trainwreck.

1

This school is a trainwreck. The only reason it stays in business is by faking grades. Can little Billy write his name on the test paper? Congratulations! He gets an A!

Hi! With all your bad

3

Hi! With all your bad comments about the school, nanshan bilingual school in shenzhen, do u know how much the teachers especially foreigners receive in that school?anybody knows? i was told foreign teachers are high competitively?

The school is misguided. They

The school is misguided. They operate by anti-logic. They have no logical basis for any decisions they make. Once the kids were forced to take a standardized exam that they were not prepared for. They did not consider that the English language skills of the students were too low to cope with the requirements of the CIE exam. They just want to "save face" so they push the students into a bad situation, rather than putting their focus on preparing the students with the skills they need. Many of the students are simply miserable at this school. I feel sorry for both the students and the teachers. The management is terrible. They have no idea about education. They have no ability to lead, manage or teach. They got their positions because of influence, not skill or ability. This is a ripoff for the parents. If they had any idea how their money was being wasted, they would find a better school to send their kids to.

The foreign teachers that get

The foreign teachers that get the high salaries are not the ones who decide what the Chinese Teachers are paid. This is decided by the school management, who are also Chinese. I assume this is driven by market forces, such as supply and demand.

The foreign teachers have left their home countries and I have traveled to China. Many have passed up on the opportunity to make higher salaries in their home countries, for the opportunity to help Chinese students. Many foreign teachers must also continue to pay bills, child support, mortgages and other expenses, while teaching in China. I had to wire half my monthly salary back home to take care of my responsibilities.

So do not assume that this salary is extravagant. It is the salary level necessary to hire the talent needed. Nothing more, nothing less.

the school is a train wreck.

the school is a train wreck. Everything is fake, headmaster keeps money all for himself.

i hear the school is bankrupt

i hear the school is bankrupt

They continue to use the

They continue to use the pictures of Foreign Teacher who have left the school. In the staff section of their website they are being deceptive, because they display pictures of teachers who have already left the school. This is a misrepresentation or an outright lie.

This just is one example of the dishonesty of the school.

yea... the principle is

yea... the principle is bankrupt so they changed another one...and they all suck cuz they dun even care

I have an interview with the

I have an interview with the school to work there via phone. Should I mention any of the above in a tactful way and see what the answers are? Also I'm taking my children there too and they will need schooling, any suggestions? Thanks..... I'm a bit worried

Well, how old are your

Well, how old are your children?? Will they be attending Primary, Middle School or High School? If you ask the school any questions to see if the statements above are true or not, they will deny it. But those statements are true, I believe.

The school has some

The school has some problems. Have an exit strategy if you decide to work there. Have a backup plan.

One of my friends was

One of my friends was studying in that school, and her english was excellent compare to those students in NSBS. But, this friend quit the school and went to new international school in shenzhen after a week. She found that some chinese teachers (who i heard was also teaching grammar..etc) English skills was HORRIBLE. Once, she hand in a writing hw, and she knew that there was a lot of grammatical mistake, cuz she proofread it after she get it back. Teacher marked the writing A+. And she found 2 spelling errors and some mistakes too. She also said, she does not need to study at all, on some of the subject. Science was useless, the only useful subject in NSBS was CHINESE math and CHINESE. To learn music? art? english? PE? science? in nanshan bilingual school?? NO WAY

Judy:I understand your

Judy:

I understand your frustration with the school. They do not have an authentic approach to education. The whole school revolves around making money and saving face for the Chinese bosses. That is the real purpose of the school.

It is best to find a school that really cares about their students. There are other options available. This school should be avoided.

this school should be

this school should be avoided, yes i agree. A student whose english was very good went to the school to learn Chinese as a foreign language. The Chinese math is very hard compared to western math and some of the formulas are different to. The student tried hard but didn't get good grades in tests/exams, what did the teacher do?Encourage the student? NO.... they discouraged the student... they compared the student to other students and praised the other students and told the class how bad the foreign student did on her test.
ANYONE considering sending your children or teaching there.... one word, DON'T!
There are other schools yes, but the phrase BILINGUAL tricks MANY foreigners to send their children there. It's not worth it, international schools may cost a whole lot more but it sure is worth it. NSBS is a place to waste your money and not learn ANYTHING.

International schoolsThere

International schools
There are four international schools in Nanshan: Shekou International School, the International School of Sino-Canada, QSI, and Shenzhen Nan Shan Bilingual School. These schools all offer North American style or British, Cambridge International Centre curricula, with English as the language of instruction.
BR, Joann Reamer, Expert Clinical Manager Jobs from clinical research jobs

but NSBS is NOT an

but NSBS is NOT an international school it is a bilingual school. It is far from an "international" school. and NSBS does not use English as the language of instruction. The most common international schools are: SIS, or QSI. SIS is more international based than QSI... SIS has more foreign students than SIS and QSI is more for of an international school for asians students with very good english.

Hello everyone. Can someone

Hello everyone. Can someone please tell me about the students and the working atmosphere in the Cambridge International Center (CIC) at Nanshan Shenzhen Bilingual School? I am considering a math position at the CIC. The salary seems good, but reading the various posts...just made me wonder what is actually going on..... Thanks in advance!

I would suggest you try S.I.S

3

I would suggest you try S.I.S (Shekou International School) or Q.S.I as the atmosphere of the students/staff is better than CIC.

The atmosphere in CIC/NSBS is very unwelcoming, the school is a fraud.
If you have read some previous comments, teachers do not get their salary check as promised and are forced to stay longer guaranteed that they will eventually get their salary.

I hear that the atmosphere in S.I.S and Q.S.I. ,most students are interested with their education and the staff/teachers are much nicer.

Best wishes to you,

They lost all their good

They lost all their good teachers (except one) . Now they are staffed by a bunch of old re-treads, that don't really know how to teach.

The high school these days

4

The high school these days experiences great changes. Australian guy was “promoted” to insignificant position. Instead, they hired a total wacko from Algeria or maybe Morocco. The school is firing and hiring teachers to his liking. Teachers were hoarded into one big staff room with temperature over 30oC with students roaming and screaming inside. They have a nasty habit of firing people without any reason. Over 50% of foreign teachers left the school. Now the school is desperate for teachers. If you are not desperate yourself you’d better run and… don’t turn around.

As said before: 1. Teachers

As said before:

1. Teachers are threatened to stay or fired.
- Good teachers are fired and retarded teachers are kept. (Most of the teachers kept are unqualified)
2.Teachers do not receive their salary as promised and are sometimes fired without receiving their
    salary.
3. The headmaster rules out of greed, he only cares about money. He does not care at all about the students or teachers.
- He has forbidden children with disabilities, since that means he will have to use more money.
- He has forbidden Korean students from the school, which makes it pointless as the school is part bilingual.

Bottom line, the school is a fraud and should be avoided.
Do not bother going there to see for yourself as you will be fooled.

Find a qualified international school.

so.... take this coming from

so.... take this coming from a 'student'
i used to go to NSBS...
The school environment is not nice, and sanitation in the school is a major issue. The restrooms are nasty and I have seen the school kitchen where the food for the students is prepared, the kitchen is dirty and they have bleach right next to the kitchen, which i'm not sure what it's used for. I also have photos, I'm not sure if they can be viewed from here but i will post the link

The above is a photo of the bleach, possibly used to wash plate, forks, spoons and such.

The above is a photo of the veggies which will be served as lunch on that day with a bottle of 'soap' used to wash them.

I dont know about anyone else but... i dont use soap to wash my veggies??
Students complain how they often find bugs or hair in their food but nothing is done.

Please try to avoid the school.

Every week you are sent into

Every week you are sent into a room with a big round table so that "big boss" can come in there and straighten you out. You are expected to take notes, nod and smile. You dare don't say a word unless asked, and you better never say anything negative or your head will be on the chopping block. That's how they roll there!!!! The attitude is "just shut up and teach".

Someone has a new post

Someone has a new post touting the virtues of the school. I tried to post a question, but was sent to another website. It seems quite suspicious to me. I wanted to ask how they can back up their claim that the school is top-rated. They make a statement, but where is the proof? Who is independently ranking the school? That is what I want to know. This is a common ploy. The CIE designation means nothing, because it is only a money game. Quality control is seriously lacking. I have seen this firsthand.

It reminds me of an unscrupulous business in my hometown. Once they ran an advertisement which said “voted number one”. My question was this, “who voted?” They could never answer this question.

ok, so obviously my pics

ok, so obviously my pics didnt upload. so here's some new links

ok this first one is an area at the back of the school, near the trash cans

Clearly someone has sabotaged

Clearly someone has sabotaged your revealing pics. Unfortunately, I can't see them. I think it is only a matter of time until the school finds a way to take down this post. They don't want the truth to come out.

Some tips for the school

Some tips for the school bosses:

  1. Communicate more with staff (two-way communication).
  2. Trust your employees (if you can't trust them, don't hire them in the first place).
  3. Give your students more activites.
  4. Open a small shop for the students, where they can buy snacks and supplies in the evenings.
  5. Stop running the school like a jail.

This school sucks. Nobody is

3

This school sucks. Nobody is happy here. Our favourite English teacher just left because of Youcef. Youcef is our head teacher, he said always bad about us. He hit A2 student too. We wrote a letter and ask to fire Youcef. But English teacher was fired because he help us. School likes Yocef because he is from Africa and very rude. This school is hypocrisy.
