SAIS was established upon approval of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China in May 2005. SAIS provides education services for children of foreign countries and people from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, offering an American curriculum.
SAIS currently offers instruction in grades Pre-school through 8th and will expand to secondary school in the 2011-2012 school year.

The goal of SAIS is to provide our students with a high-quality, student-centered American education. The academic status and records of our students will be accepted by American schools, as we are using an American curriculum. Our teachers at SAIS are licensed in the United States and have completed a college/university program there to obtain this license.

SAIS textbooks and instructional materials are from the United States and used by many schools and school districts there. SAIS places an emphasis on interactive activities, teamwork and performance. We believe that academic, artistic, and athletic performance plays an integral role in developing students who are competitive in our ever-changing global society.

We firmly believe that our students will become envoys in the expanding partnership between China and United States.

SAIS is opening a second campus in Futian this August in addition to its Nanshan campus. The Futian campus will house grades preschool through elementary and the Futian campus will house preschool through 9th grade.
