Tattoo is a form of art. Similar to other forms of art, it takes raw talent, relentless practice and years of experience to create a masterpiece. On many aspects however, a tattoo artist is unlike a typical artist. While artists generally strive to express their ideas or vision through their

artwork, the mission of tattoo artists is to understand the ideas or visions of their clients, and actualize their visions into reality by coming up with a design that the clients can relate to on a personal level.

Secondly, a successful tattoo artist is never satisfied with mediocrity. Each piece of work is treated as a new challenge and be tended with 110% attention. You put your heart and soul into each piece of your work, for the biggest job satisfaction is not derived from being ‘better’ or more popular than your peers, but in witnessing the progression of your skills by looking back at your finished works over the years. Being a successful tattoo artist is a race against yourself and if you play the game right, it is one of the most rewarding and fulfilling experiences.

A professional tattoo artist puts their client’s needs as the top priority; never allow yourself to be egoistical is a secret key for becoming successful in this challenging profession.
