La Casa Restaurant & Bar

The open, casual atmosphere is ideal for Shenzhen. The menu design is original, but the menu itself is quite restricted. Starters, sandwiches, salads, pasta, and pizza only - no main dishes leans more towards a lunch or hung-over brunch venue.

The food itself was good, with the exception of doughy, bland meatballs. The salads were crisp and fresh, starters have a nice variety of flavors not common in Shenzhen, and the sandwhiches and pasta were very good. The pizza is good as a starter, but not quite substantial enough as a main.

The drinks list is solid, and they even know how to make them! Get bonus points for that alone. Overall pricing is attractive.

If you're on a low-carb diet, this isn't the place. There's dough-based foods all over the place.

Again, the venue is great, the atmosphere is fun and casual, the staff are friendly and attentive (although Mr. McGoo will get confused easily), but with the plethora of Italian places popping up in the same area, something more creative on a dinner menu is needed to make me a regular.

I think David deserves a chance. Good prices and David been there full time is enough for me to go and have a beer sometimes. I like the concept of bar, not club, not disco, not KTV, to see the owner there working every day.... I think this place it is one of the few in Shenzhen who reach the level of being a proper try to feel like at home.

Found the food to be above average on the times we've gone. But not a place to go if you're looking for a full meal. Mostly a variety of snack items. And if you're watching the carbs, probably not the sort of place to be visiting. Had apple pie last time. Perhaps better look for a new recipe, or dessert chef?

Cool place...cool laid back vibe...great pizza. What else do you want?
If you want a loud laowai bar with overpriced bad food, this isnt the place.
