Shenzhen, China, 18 October 2017 – Marriott International, Inc. (NASDAQ: MAR) continues its rapid expansion in China with the debut of Shenzhen Marriott Hotel Golden Bay, an extraordinary property that sets a new benchmark for Marriott Hotels in China. Located in Shenzhen, which is known as ‘China’s Silicon Valley’, the hotel is within easy access of Hong Kong and close to the Dapeng Peninsula (the origins of Shenzhen city). Shenzhen Marriott Hotel Golden Bay enjoys a prime location on the beachfront of Golden Bay – one of the top eight domestic bays in China. The opening of Shenzhen Marriott Hotel Golden Bay marks the first resort-like Marriott Hotel in Shenzhen.

Shenzhen Marriott Hotel Golden Bay offers 325 spacious guest rooms and suites, featuring panoramic sea views, as well as high-speed Internet access and high-tech facilities. The hotel was designed with Shenzhen’s fishing village heritage in mind, and pays homage to the Dapeng Fortress, said to be the origins of Shenzhen itself – a perfect embodiment of the Marriott Modern aesthetic, designed to harness the sparks that occur during travel. 

Guests can choose from four restaurants and a lounge that serve up a variety of inventive local and international gourmet experiences. Award-winning chef Jackie Fong brings to life traditional Cantonese and Teochew cuisines with an innovative twist at the hotel’s Chinese restaurant. With floor to ceiling windows showcasing the breathtaking sea views, all-day dining venue Golden Bay Kitchen offers international favorites around the clock. Chuan features a versatile space that is able to accommodate a separate food stand focusing on “Chuan”, which translates to “food-on-sticks”, and can be a casual grab-and-go option. The Lounge focuses on an authentic tea experience during the day, and transforms into a relaxing place for guests to usher in the evening with a cocktail in hand. Located in the lobby entrance, The China Baking Company resembles an authentic Hong Kong café serving up fresh breads and pastries, as well as its memorable silky milk tea.

Designed with flexibility in mind, Shenzhen Marriott Hotel Golden Bay has over 3,000 sqm of state-of-the-art event space, including the 1,000 sqm Kaisa Grand Ballroom that also provides access to a drive-in limousine catering to various needs. In addition, it has a 330 sqm entrance foyer with a splendid sea view for an ideal pre-event reception. The hotel also features the biggest public outdoor lawn in Shenzhen, overlooking the Golden Bay beach perfect for a whimsical outdoor wedding. Shenzhen Marriott Hotel Golden Bay also provides a wide range of activities for guests, such as a 24-hour fitness center, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a kids’ club and a spa.
