The Art Of Making A Suit By Tailor Tom Bespoke

When we picture a man in a suit, we see James Bond in his black tuxedo in Goldfinger or Don Draper sporting a grey suit during a sales pitch in Mad Men. You can be quite sure that neither man bought their suits off the rack or some tailor who gave them a business card on the street.

They wear the kind of suits that are made by Tailor Tom Bespoke. Having learned his craft over six years working as a pattern maker for prestigious New York custom tailors, Michael Andrews Bespoke, Tom started his own tailors a little over two years ago.

El Toro Comes Charging Into Houhai With Authentic Spanish Cuisine

These days, Shenzhen has so many different restaurants offering all kinds of cuisine from all over the world. You can find almost anything you desire from the more popular Italian and French restaurants to the up and coming styles from the Middle East and also South America.

One cuisine that has been conspicuous by its absence in Shenzhen, however, is Spanish food. For all the Italian pastas and Indian curries you can try, the city has been criminally short of places offering pinchos or paella. That is all about to change with the arrival of El Toro in Houhai.

Say Hello To The Newest Members of The Terrace’s Live Music Family

There are few better feelings than walking into a bar when the band is in the middle of their set. The guitarist screeching out a solo and the front man singing like it’s his last time. The crowd up on their feet and dancing along.

It’s the same feeling you get when you watch the band at The Terrace. It’s a group of musicians that are very much a family, and this month the family just welcomed three exciting new members. Shenzhen Party went along one night to say hello to singers Monica Cuenco and Kris Astor, and drummer Mark Jasper.

Your new favorite Mexican in the heart of bustling Shuiwei 藏在水围巷子里你最爱的墨西哥餐吧

I have to admit, Mexican restaurants are my favorite kind of restaurants. So you can imagine my excitement when one lazy afternoon, while walking down the bustling streets of Shuiwei, I came across Mambo. I had high hopes for this Mexican restaurant and cocktail bar. I was not to be disappointed.

Mambo invites you in with its open doors and outside seating. When you see the blue and white walls match the Vespa scooter parked out front, you know this is a place that pays attention to detail.

敞开的门窗,开放的用餐环境,蓝白色的墙面与门外停放着的韦士柏踏板车相映,可见Mambo 精细入微的特征。 Read more »

Hospital or Hotel?
A suite at Shenzhen Far East Women & Children's Hospital

Visiting Shenzhen Far East Women and Children’s Hospital is a pleasant surprise. It is probably the most un-hospital-like hospital in Shenzhen, with rooms – and service – more like that of a hotel. No more long queues or needing to wait hours to see the doctor. Here you will be treated efficiently and with respect, whether Chinese or foreign. Read more »

Residence G Introduces The Clubhouse To Nanshan
Residence G Brings G-Club to Nanshan

Residence G Shenzhen has impacted the heart of Nanshan by combining both a modern boutique hotel and a lifestyle-serviced apartment. I personally love the modern and European look and feel of this residence hotel and the fact that it is only a five-minute Mobike trip away from the Raffles City Mall and fifteen-minute drive from Shekou entertainment & dining area. If you are a guest or a resident of Residence G, you can enjoy all of the modern amenities and personal touch experiences offered by the Residence G staff at your leisure. Read more »

Amazing View, Food and Ambiance at Grange Grill at The Westin Shenzhen Nanshan
Grange Grill has amazing Steaks, Seafood and Ambiance

In every big city, there are these certain restaurants that you can go to for a great fine dining experience and beautiful city view. These are located usually on high rises overlooking the city and in America, many times they will have a rotating functionality to them so that while you enjoy your dinner, you are getting a full 360 view of the city. I have to admit that many restaurants I have visited around the world with great city views often had a food experience that was definitely below average. These restaurants would capitalize the location to win their guests while suffering a barrage of negative reviews of the food. Read more »

Shark Brings an "Eat, Drink and Play" Atmosphere to Coco Park
Unique meats, tapas, seafood and drinks at Shark

I remember when I first came to Shenzhen, there were not a lot of “Hot Spots” that were showcasing great places of entertainment, dining and shopping besides the Shekou area. It wasn't until very recently that other hot spots, as I like to call it, started popping up around the Futian area and one of those spots – now very popular among locals and expats – is the Coco Park CMD area of Futian. This area has evolved into a great place for shopping, entertainment and FNB. When I first came here, I was shocked to see the diversity of dining locations but one spot that stood out to me was a restaurant called “Shark.” This was pretty easy, since there is literally a shark tank above the sign with real sharks swimming around.
