Shangri-La Hotel, Shenzhen joined "Run for Love One Foundation 2011 Shenzhen (Yantian) Mountain Marathon" held on 18 December 2011. More than 70 staffs from Shangri-La Hotel, Shenzhen participated in this year’s competition. Every participant who completes the marathon will help raise money for the children’s project of the Shenzhen one foundation’s public welfare foundation. Moreover, hotel held a charity counter for selling delicious cakes and drinks, like macaroon, sandwiches, cookies and so forth. All donations will be donated to One Foundation to help the needy children.

Shenzhen’s Movember effort is coming to a close this Friday at 20:00 with all of our Mo bros and sistas coming together to show off their Mogress for the month and raise some more money for prostate cancer research and men’s health awareness.

Come out for a great night of Mustache and fun and support a great cause!

A blood donation event was held by The Pavilion Hotel, the Official Hotel of Universiade Shenzhen in Feb 24, 2011, participating in The Lion Club’s ‘Red Action’ blood donation month, is the first charity event for the 10th year anniversary of the hotel. More than 100 employees willingly offered their blood. This love action also appealed citizens across by and donated their blood also which is really helpful to ease the lacking blood situation of Shenzhen Blood Center.

China Daily has an article named "A new approach for philanthropy in China?".
Descriptions are quoted as below:

"Chinese non-governmental-organizations, especially the grassroots charities, have been facing a severe shortage of talented staff due to a lack of money.

A recent survey shows that 65.7 percent of the 451 NGOs plan to hire more people in 2011. But many vacancies cannot be filled by qualified people, due to the low pay and the lack of opportunity for career development.

Currently only 45.4 percent of the NGOs have staff responsible for fundraising and communication, whereas 30.1 percent for research, according to the survey jointly conducted by Tencent Foundation, Narada Foundation, and Liu Hongru Financial Education Foundation
