It is not often that accounting makes news headlines. Yet it has caught the headlines more frequently in recent times – from Enron and WorldCom in the U.S. to Parmalat (Italy), Kanebo (Japan), Satyam (India), and more recently reverse mergers listed in the U.S., among others.
