2011 Shenzhen International Fring Festival Kicked off

The Second Shenzhen International Fringe Festival kicked off with Fringe Parade at Shenzhen Bay Street, Nanshan Central District on 3rd of December. This fantastic event will be lasted till 11th of December.

 

At 3pm, with the command of Chard, the parade began. DADA and GAGA, the two aliens from Fringe Planet, lead the crowd to the central stage. The parade is consisted of various kinds groups from all around the world, including Casa de Portugal from Macau, Balloons for Peace from Canda, Symbiosis Dance Group from Honkong, Brass Band of SZU from the University of Shenzhen and so forth. Citizens sung, dance with all this groups.

 

The theme color of 2010 Fringe Festival was Purple, but for this year, the theme color is bright yellow. Aiming at establishing a zero threshold public platform, this time Fringe Festival wants to truly enter people’s ordinary life and connect citizens with arts. During the nine days, 500 artists, 34 programs, 51 shows and 41 film screenings will lead you enter into a brilliant multicultural world. 

 

 

About Fringe. What is Fringe?

Stories date back to 1947, when eight groups were not invited to perform in the Edinburgh International Festival. To protest, they decided to set up a separate art event, “Fringe Festival”, which is gradually recognized and accepted as more and more performers follow their examples. Fringe is dedicated to bringing up creativity, making city surprises, increasing public participations, developing modern art and revealing contemporary life and mindset.
