The 2012 Fed Cup Asian Zone Tennis Tournament is being held in Shenzhen at the Shenzhen Luohu Tennis Centre from January 30th-February 5th. This marks the 50th year of the Fed Cup, which is considered the most important tournament between national teams in women's tennis. A total of 17 countries are participating in the 2012 Federation Cup Asia Zone tournament, divided into groups I and II. Group I participating teams include: China, Chinese Taipei, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Thailand and Uzbekistan. Group II participating teams include: Hong Kong, India, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Oman, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Turkmenistan. The world final will take place November 4-5th.
