The TianYu Branch of the U.S. Consulate, Guangzhou Will be Open on Friday, May 17

All consulate operations at the TianYu branch, Guangzhou, Consulate General of The United States are currently closed through Friday, May 17.

May 14, unknown white power was found in an envelope by a worker of consulate. The consulate was immediately closed and the power was sent to test. No casualty was reported. However, all immigrant visas to the United States from China are suspended, as well as the “non-immigrant” visas in south China.

In China, there are six cities are set U.S. consulates and they are Biejing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenyang, Chengdu and Wuhan. TianYu branch in Guangzhou is the only office in China for immigration service. Read more »

Shenzhen First Expat Volunteers Team in Futian District

In collaboration with Shenzhen Daily, the Futian District Government is organizing the first Expat Volunteers Team, and recruiting now.

Volunteers could provide services to welfare centers, offering help to pedestrians while serving in U stations, teaching English to migrant workers’ children, working to help those in need in local communities, and even guiding other expatriates in touring Futian.

The Snake Pit - A Club with History

World's Largest Golf Club & Spa Resort Creates the World's Biggest QR Code

Some 2,000 employees of luxury golf and spa resort Mission Hills came together to form the largest Human QR Code in an effort to promote eco-tourism to the world and to make sustainable tourism a global reality.

The gigantic real life QR Code was created by staff carrying umbrellas and gathering at the Mission Hills driving range in Shenzhen, China. The aerial photo, taken from a height of 270 feet, is readable by a QR scanner and takes smartphone users to a campaign website promoting sustainable eco-tourism.  Read more »
