Housing Tax Changes Announced

HOME prices will now factor into calculations of housing title tax in Shenzhen, instead of the previous calculation that was based on home prices per square meter, housing officials announced this week.

The new policy splits Shenzhen’s 10 districts and new areas into six housing price zones, with different price caps that trigger a higher tax rate. Homes sold for less than 3.9 million yuan (US$632,212) in Futian and Nanshan districts, for example, are subject to a title tax of only 1 percent of the total home price, provided they also are smaller than 144 square meters. Shenzhen Angel International Marathon 2013 --- A Gala for Running Enthusiasts

“I concentrated on running and had practiced hard to achieve a good result in Shenzhen’s race. I want to thank the people who cheered for me on the way. I was happy to hear their voices,” said Asefa, who was born in 1988 and completed the 2013 Shenzhen Angel International Marathon in two hours, 12 minutes and 29 seconds.

 

The Dec 8th Shenzhen International Marathon successfully ended, African runners won the men and women’s division top 3.

In Memory of Harry Cochran
Harry Cochran

Harry Cochran passed away on July 14, 2013 while riding his bike with his wife Jin Lan in Shekou.  Harry, a longtime resident of Shekou having moved here in March 2005, lived at Rose Garden 2 and of course like many American expats, had family and friends both here and in the USA.  

Harry leaves behind his wife in China, and in America two Daughters whom he loved dearly and five Grandchildren, our thoughts are with them and all his family at this time.
