China Mobile has already launched the 4G-LTE network in Hong Kong and been testing the network in the conutry for quite some time now.  There have been rumors that the company will launch an open test in Shenzhen but only available to a very small number of loyal local customers on May 17.

The very first real American bar Frankie's is now in soft opening in Futian Free Trade Zone. It's also the first bar in Shenzhen that offers a huge variety of American Bourbon Whiskeys, as well as the coldest beer that they designed and built the full-scale refrigerated beer keg system. They even have their very own microbrew that produces a beer called Rock Bar Appalachian Pale Ale that Frankie's is the only bar in the world selling it, which is only available for two weeks a month because quantity is limited. There are five Apple Stores in China so far, two in Beijing and three in Shanghai. There have been rumors about Apple is planning to open a new store at Holiday Plaza in Shenzhen after Tim Cook's visit to China at the end of March, as there was a job opening of Manager position in Shenzhen and there is a construction site with a slogan saying "InternationalBrand Coming Soon".

Shenzhen has been announced to be one of the top 10 cities in China according to expats. The rest are: Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Wuhan, Guangzhou, Suzhou, Chongqing, Xiamen and Hangzhou.

The survey judged cities on their policies, administration, working conditions and living environments; asking expats to choose up to three of their favorites. More than 180,000 expats living in China participated in the survey through both paper and online voting, and about 1,000 were surveyed during the second half of 2011 about their opinions on 18 aspects of Chinese cities. There are about 600,000 expats living in China, according to the 2010 national census.
