Essentially, the list of charges is that the near 1 million people who work for Foxconn (about 230,000 of whom produce products for Apple, the others assembling for Dell, HP, just about every electronics company in fact) have to work long hours for low pay in dangerous conditions.

 

Shangri-La Hotel, Shenzhen joined "Run for Love One Foundation 2011 Shenzhen (Yantian) Mountain Marathon" held on 18 December 2011. More than 70 staffs from Shangri-La Hotel, Shenzhen participated in this year’s competition. Every participant who completes the marathon will help raise money for the children’s project of the Shenzhen one foundation’s public welfare foundation. Moreover, hotel held a charity counter for selling delicious cakes and drinks, like macaroon, sandwiches, cookies and so forth. All donations will be donated to One Foundation to help the needy children.

Shangri-La Hotel, Shenzhen marked the beginning of the Christmas and New Year’s celebrations with the tree lighting ceremony on 9 December 2011 at Lobby Lounge.  Philip Dewar, general manager of Shangri-La Hotel, Shenzhen, together with the headmaster of Shenzhen Yuanping Special Education School switched on the lights of the Christmas tree.  The most significant part of this year’s celebration is the charity sales organised by Shangri-La Hotel, Shenzhen and Shenzhen Yuanping Special Education School.  A charity counter has been set up in the hotel’s lobby to sell handmade artwork created by the disabled students.  The charity sales activity lasts for two weeks. ASC Fine Wines held a nice wine tasting event with Brown Brothers in Interlaken Hotel OCT East on November 1, 2011.

In the event, the owner of this Australian winery, Ross Brown gave a warm welcome speech to guests and also briefly introduce people the wines that he brought along this time. It was a fantastic time for the guests to indugle themselves in an afternoon that was of leisure and freshness- by the nice views in the hotel and the unique tast of the wines.
