The Clockenflap music and Arts Festival, as Hongkong’s most groundbreaking event of the year, returns on Saturday and Sunday, 1-2 December 2012. It promises to be the biggest music and arts festival Hong Kong has ever seen! The organizers appreciate the support from the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority who is the venue partner for Clockenflap 2012.
New for Clockenflap 2012
Loved by locals and expats, music addicts and multimedia fans, families and foodies, Clockenflap 2012 offers something for everyone. Let’s see what new elements joined for this year: two additional music stages, totaling six music platforms for our local, regional and international talent. A dedicated arts area with stunning installations; an enlarged film and animation tent; additional family activities and kids’ entertainment; a host of Hong Kong’s tastiest food from around town – and for the very first time, a Clockencraft indie craft market.
Line-up 2012
As the music policy of the festival, pioneering, edgy artists across genres and geographical borders are invited. Those famous cutting edge international names taken to the clockenfalp stage last year still ring in our ears: Santigold, Bombay Bicycle Club, The Cribs, YACHT and The Charlatans. This year, many excited names will be showed up and they are UK indie gods Primal Scream, US hip hop legends De La Soul and Australian festival favourites Sneaky Sound System. Besides these established stars, up-and-coming international talent will also joint this music carnival, such as Alt-J from England and Melbourne’s hotly tipped Chet Faker.
How could local scene miss in this cool event?! As ever, dozens of local musicians are important parts of this festival and will present in many stages. They include Chochukmo, Noughts and Exes, The Yours, Modern Children, 22 Cats, G La G La Di Guo, Uptown Rockers and Dan F. What’s more, a wider music spectrum is featured this year: Electronica from mainland China, indie rock Sandwich from Manila, even male voice choir from Welsh.

Clockenflap Vision
Founded in 2008 by Mike Hill, Jay Forster and Justin Sweeting, Clockenflap insisted on giving Hong Kong a sustainable festival, which was inspired by such international festivals as Glastonbury, Fuji rock and South by Southwest. Never been motivated by money, Clockenflap continues providing Hong Kong with different music and arts that they are longing for. 2012 is the fifth year of Clockenflap and it keeps growing stronger and stronger!
