Where do all the young executive/Uni/Expats go in Shenzhen (Luohu/Futian) - Booze Wise!

I been here for nearly 2 years but i seem to have trouble finding a place to hangout or party in Shenzhen that matches me. Most of the places i been too are packed with middle aged china men and we don't really have much in common. Although not too young myself, i definitely would like to hangout with a younger or more executive crowd or other fellow expats. Where are the places to go to? Where do the local Uni people go to? Where do the young executives party? Also, is there a nice place with a nice liveband?

Where to live in Shenzhen?

Good Day,

I will be moving to Shenzhen with my girlfriend in 1 week, and we are looking for places to live near the OCT. I are looking for a 1-2 bedroom, kitchen, laundry, etc. We want to pay between 2000-3500 RMB a month.

I hope someone can answer the following questions:

1. Where should I look to find afforable apartments near the OCT. ( I am willing to travel 5-7 metro stations.)

2. Is it better to look for apartments upon arrival or go through an agent? (it seems most places advertsied on this website are quite expensive.)

3. Where do you recommend a foreigner (canadian) should live in Shenzhen? (I lived in Taiwan for a year so it wont be much of a culture shock)

4. Any other information would be greatly appreciated.

Visa and Job Opportunity Questions

Hello Everyone,

My name is Brendan and I am a 25 year old Canadian. I will be moving from Taiwan to Shenzhen in the coming months for work. I have a few questions regarding visa/business opportunities:

1. My employer wants to give me an L Visa (tourist visa) for 6 months - 1 year. Should I accept this visa to work on? Or is it too dangerous?

2. Do I have to register for a Z visa in my home country? Can I change an L visa into a Z visa?

3. Do I need to change a Z visa to a permit resident visa for PRC once I arrive in Shenzhen?

The McCawleys meats website has expired. I called their number but the unhelpful guy said yes it had, and I said how do I get a list of prices and products, he just said we sell aust and nz meats and does not know when the web will be up again?Are they still in business?

I been to one in cocopark ,and zhong xin. people sitting outside are more like restaurant .

where is the real bar or nightclub like mix, vics , xiu, atmosphere bar(yun ku) in beijing..

have really good music, really good enviroment, can drink and dance.. high class bars.

Hi, i am new to the nightlife in Shenzhen and i am looking for some quality bars that has quality crowds and with a good English band. Been to Le Nest, Soho and babyface but crowd is not really my kind. Where do the young execs go to in Luohu or Futian? Or where do the university students go?

The 2 Aussie guys who own Xpats ber have just emailed their customers to report a story of a stabbing and robbery of an expat here in Futian.These dogs rented an apartment next door to the guy and stole from him by crawling along the outside balcony an the 25th Floor in a complex near Coco Park. Then they attacked him, stabbed him, and tortured him until he gave them his pin no. for the bank card.THEN LEFT HIM FOR DEAD.

So, lock balcony doors at night, don't open the door for strangers, and be sure nobody is following you when you are returning home.The victim is recovering in Hospital and Police caught the guys. Maybe have a heavy stick handy by the door and bed.

Always be AWARE !!!!!!!
