Very Siam

Very Siam is a Thai restaurant with a few locations in Bejing that has now arrived in Shenzhen. Opposite the international youth hostel in OCT-LOFT, the decoration of the restaurant is really Thai style. You can see delicate murals, Thai characters, buddhism ornaments...It is a nice place in a crowed city for you to relax.

Very Siam features authentic Thai food whose quality is controlled by Thai people with a resonable price. Pure vegetarian food is also served there based on the guest's requriement. Well trained and attentive staff have good knowledge for the food. The attached bar in the restaurant can be a good place for guests to wait as the restaurant is already busy. Per person consumption is less than RMB 150. The following dishes are some reccomendaions from experienced guests:

  • Vegetarian Spring Rolls - Extremely Delicious nice and greasy and crunchy
  • Singha and Chang Beer
  • Rich Toufu Curry
  • Spicy Green Vegetable Curry
  • Fresh and Spicy Green Papaya Salad

Best South-East Asian food I

Best South-East Asian food I have had in Shenzhen - Been there twice last week - the Tom Tum was slightly on the sour side - closer to what you would find in Bangkok than Hong Kong '(which is usually heavily laced with coconut cream). So a thinner broth spicier and tint more sour. The sharkfin is a far cry from what you would find at Scala or in Chinatown in Bangkok. It's more Chinese style than Thai. The curriess all checked out. The BBQ pork neck is a must try . Fabulous! Never thought that I eould have positive domments on any form of foreign food in China. So to all you guys looking for Thai food here - forget all those buffet style chains and try this out!
