From My extensive experience I have compiled the following brief Visa Info for anyone who needs it.
Three Main Types of Visa Categories for China.
“L” Class Visa (Tourism Visa)
Used for single “Tourism” Trips into china, usually only last 1 or 3 months with single or limited multiple entry into mainland China. People Holding these Visas are not allowed to work or conduct business inside of china whilst travelling on this visa.
“F” Class Visa (Business Visa)
Used for conducting Business in China. Business is defined by an act of providing a service or product in which remuneration is not received in China.
These visas are usually issued for 3-6-12 Months for limited multiple or unlimited multiple entry with a set stay limit of 14-30-60-90 day stays (the visa holder must exit after the set about of days stated as maximum stay on the visa they are holding).
“Z” Class Visa
Used when a applicant has been sponsored by a legitimate chinese company. These are very hard to obtain as there is a lot of paperwork, however are very necessary if you are being remunerated inside of china. These usually have to be renewed every year with a new contract from the employer.
Special "E" Class Visas available at Louhu Boarder crossing
and are available for all passport holder EXCEPT USA. These are short stay (usually 3-5 days) single entry, exit via same port as entry, and are paid in Cash at the Visa Office. below is a list of countires and prices. Hi everyone

hi,u'd better issue visa at
hi,u'd better issue visa at your own country. First of all,now you can do in Hongkong for China mainland visa is max 30 days and two entry. There is no more multiple visa for months or 1 year. What's more, you can't get visa after hours waiting within the day,u have to wait for four/five days,so u will spend the hell for hotel in hongkong and waste your time. Plus,I don't know which documents u need provide. Flight/hotel booking, and company invitation letter chopped by government might required.
The situation won't be better untill Oct.8th. Then we don't know if our government will change it again. Anyway, good luck and best wishes!
China visa half year or one
China visa half year or one year multiple entry is very simple right now after Olympic games. Passport holder no need to go to Hong Kong staying in the hotel for days to get the visa.
Many visa specialists can renew your visa inside of mainland China as long as your visa have at least 7 day staying at China.
Reminder, for Arabic countries still have difficulties to renew half or one year visa inside of China so it is better to go to Hong Kong or back to your own country to apply if you cannot provide enough documents.
Happy new year to all.

Hi, Visa in shekou? Is it
Hi,
Visa in shekou? Is it possible to get a 5-day visa at the Shekou Ferry Terminal coming from Hong Kong? My visa is about to expire and I need a few more days so I was considering taking a few hours to go to Hong Kong and back.
Thanks in advance!
I recently arrived in Shekou
I recently arrived in Shekou by ferry. The Travel agent Visa office there offered me a few options: 5-day Shenzhen visa, 1 entry for 30days, 2 entry of 30days each. I opted for the 1 entry for 30days. The price was high at 520RMB but the service was fast and friendly. This might be because I was their only client. They are only open from 9AM - 5PM and there might be an extra charge during lunch time hours. Also note, you need to have a photograph for the visa... but this is nothing unusual.
The Z Visa is a requirement
The Z Visa is a requirement for those seeking residency for employment purposes. Indeed, the Z involves a very time-consuming process of employer sponsorship, extensive paperwork and a thorough medical examination. The Z lasts for 30 days only, during which time you are required to relinquish your passport at the local police station and undergo an interview.
On a separate but related note, the residency permit is even more difficult to obtain. As of the writing of this comment, government officials have drastically increased application scrutiny. For example, officials are now denying work residency applications for foreign experts who do not submit their original diploma. That's right, a photocopy will no longer suffice.
Incidentally, I began this visa process in March and have yet to receive my residency (um, it's June 4th).
