So here is my problem. I applied for a work visa in Shenzhen in January. The police were supposed to come see me at work before they can approve it. They never came. My coworkers went for me to ask why, 6 times, but they were just told to go back to our company and wait till they come. We went together yesterday to the police and they were surprised it took this long. They said I need to renew my visa first and then they can get it all done if I give them my Visa on friday.
So, I need a new visa or an extension. To be safe it should be a L Visa dual entry in case it takes a little longer..
Do the new rules mean I cannot get this done in 1 day, that I have to stay in HK for 3 or so days, that I need to have a plane ticket showing that I am leaving Hong Kong to return home to America, and have a hotel booked in China somewhere?
Can I get this done in Macao?
Where exactly in Macao or can I get this done in HK still at an agency?
Is there anything else I should know?
Is it possible to get a visa extension in for 30 days and can that be done in one day? I would assume I would then go to Guangzhou to do this if it is possible.
please reply to mLink965 at gmail or leave a post here.
Thank you:)

as far as I can tell, if you
as far as I can tell, if you are at an agency in HK before they open (8:00) and hand in your application, you can get it back that night. I am going tomorrow to get mine, and am losing sleep over it. One of my friends has already been denied, and asked to leave
If I were you I would go as soon as possible.
hope it all works out,

Hi, Well i faced the same
Hi,
Well i faced the same problem like you are facing .I was rather unfortunate , cause when the police authorities came to our office i was in guangzhou on a business trip .Since i was not present my work permit application was rejected .Our Director had to go to the external affairs ministry where he got a certificate stating my employment status .Well they were kind enough and suggested me to go back to my country and submit all the requisite documents to the chinese embassy .within 3 days i got my "Z" work visa on my passport. After coming to shenzhen the police officer clearly said that since you have got the work visa from the chinese embassy , no power in this counrty can reject your work permit. So basically i had to go thru a long process but it was worth it.Inspite our organization has a registered office in shenzhen with an investment more that 5,00,000 RMB we had to undergo this process.I would suggest you to request your company to support you in your work permit process as the rules have changed due to olypmics just round the corner, it'll be safe bet.Gettin a double entry visa from MACAO or HK is not possible these days(even single entry visa have been stopped).....eventually you would have to go to the US.
Cheers ...
g'day mate, I'd reckon you
g'day mate, I'd reckon you get a paddle and start paddling. sounds like your up shit creek. but if you get a paddle at least you have something. Alas, I maybe on the next boat too.

I have a one-year multiple
I have a one-year multiple entry visa that I got in January. Is this still good? I have to cross the border today and I am hoping that I don't have any trouble!
Anybody know anything?
Ok, well I made it and
Ok, well I made it and luckily i didn't need to paddle anyone, but I reserve the right to give out future paddlins when required...or requested.
So, no more same day Visas until this all gets sorted out if ever. You have to stay overnight in Hong Kong. I went to the agency called CTS (China Travel Service I believe). So you need a plane ticket and a hotel confirmation to get your visa, buuuut if you pay them a total of 150HK they can..ahem..get you through that requirement.
It should also be noted if you turn it in the morning you get it back the next morning, but if you turn it in after lunch you get it the next day at night.
This is the rush treatment. This was for an L Tourist Visa. They can request that it be a dual entry visa for no extra charge, but there is no guarantee that you will receive a dual entry. I got lucky and got the dual. Total including all extra fees was about 1850HK.
I hope the guy who replied to me above planned for an overnight stay. I myself brought a suitcase and enough clothes for the weekend. WHICH reminds me...that poor guy I just mentioned...If you go on Friday, you have to stay in Hong Kong till Monday possibly Tuesday. That's what they told the women I was waiting behind when I went to pick it up today so beware!

still good as long as it
still good as long as it isn't expiring. Only thing is in the rules, i think they mention that they have the right to change your visa to a single entry at their discretion .

Just got back from spending
Just got back from spending the day in Hong Kong, not a visa run, and was informed by immigration that my visa expires on the day it was issued not the day I entered China. I'm now sinking quickly looking for a life vest, a plank, a stick of wood, anything. Where was the travel agency you went to? Is there anything in particular I need to say to them? What type of visa did you end up getting? I have to attempt to get a visa by Tuesday. Any information you tell would be much appreciated.
*Can we have an extension
*Can we have an extension of L tourist visa in Shenzhen* ?

To whell: The agency I
To whell:
The agency I always use is in Wanchai. If you are familiar with the area, there is a Mcdonalds with escalators on the corner going up to an electronics mart similar to Hua Qiang Bei computer part shops. Anyway, around that corner, the next entrance is for the china Travel Service Agency I use. Another marker would be directly to the left of those escalators is an entrance to the subway which is underneath a long bridge/walkway. To the right of the China travel service is a public area with lots of basketball courts and a soccer field. Hope that helps you to find it. About what to ask, just tell them your situation. If they say you need a ticket and hotel confirmation, tell them you heard you can pay 150HK for them to help with that. As stated in my long tale of what happened, I received an L Visa with two entries. Be advised, you will need to stay overnight in Hong Kong, so make some arrangements, and bring a change of clothes;)
To solrac13:
My Chinese Tutor John, asked at the PSB and they told him they can only extend business ones and definitely not tourist visa extensions. I suggest personally going and asking them at the local police station where you live. You can try calling them. Here is the number I have, but they never seem to answer:
82918244. I talked with a woman named Yi Li Zhou. She spoke pretty good English, but might be safer to have someone who speaks fluent Chinese to get your point across to her;)

Hi
Police in sz is really horrible.I'm now working for an italian restaurant locates in futian. There are italians who need to apply working visa,I am always the one to handle these things.Last week,I went to the police station.I really experienced what is the darkness of the government.
Every staff in the police is telling me that it's none of their business for processing the working visa.I stayed there for almost 2 more hours, walking up and down the stairs, but nothing happened, only waiting and waiting. When I ask,it's the dissapoiting answer all the same.
Try going with your Italian
Try going with your Italian friend, that needs the visa. They seem to be more receptive when they see a foreign face, but make sure your italian friend is very very friendly, big smile on his face at all times.

If your nationality is listed in the 33 blacklisted countries, you can NOT extend visa in HK or anywhere but your home country.
Unless CTS have a way around with it with premium fees. If CTS failed, you might not be able to return SZ if no entry left. So, watch your step.
Any result, pls share w/us!
To MLink,
May I know your nationality?

Well visa issue has become a problem now, but good news is that you can get a working visa from another province & then apply a resident permit in shenzhen. Actually it more safer & convinient cause its a ONE YEAR VISA!

I have one & I fell FREE! If you need help you can contact me.
Well actually, I got booked
Well actually, I got booked into a hotel that is a little farther than i wanted. My coworker made a mistake. I stayed at the Mongkok Hotel in Mongkok. It was alright, but I suggest you look for a closer one or you will need to subway a little bit of a distance to get back there. It was a nice place though. Clean and close to the subway. There was a different CTS really close to it too, but I have no experience using them so if you use them, don't hold me responsible;)

No problem:) It brings me happiness to help anyone here that's having a little trouble or prevent a problem from ever occurring with my experiences. Good luck!
@edensan
Sorry to hear that:D To add, make sure there is no holiday as well. Besides the main ones they celebrate in the mainland, there are a bunch of other ones where you can't get a visa done. That means, for example, you go on a Thursday, they are closed(consulate and travel agency), you'd have to stay overnight, give them your visa the next day, Friday, when they opened, then stay overnight again for the processing, and pick it up on the third business day, which would mean spending the weekend in HK to wait for Monday to come. I hope someone reads this before getting really screwed.

If you're in the States and
If you're in the States and wish to travel to Shenzhen, what procedures do you have to follow to make sure one don't end up with this kind of problem. I have a girlfriend there and we are planning to get married. Will our marriage ease the visa problem, will it be classified as a fiance visa? I've been planning this trip for awhile now and have found out that there's alot of different opinions to my case. I'm a musician and was hoping I could get a job there....I'd be married to my beautiful Chinese girl friend by then and wonder if that would make it easier for me to apply for a job there?
Would a fiance visa be any

Hello!
The best visa office in HK is:

Does anyone know if you can apply for a "Z" entry visa in HK or Macao still? I'm planning on leaving China at the end of July with all the proper paperwork fom a school, which wants to hire me as a teacher. If not, can I apply in Bangkok, rather than returning to my home country. I am an American. Thanks!

Hi,
I am from the U.K and I have a U.K passport.I am currently in Shenzhen, I have a 6 month (L) visa that expires 22/08/08. I would like to apply for an F visa 12 month. I understand this is not possible until October. Can anybody tell me what I can do between 22/08/08 and October? Your advice is very much appreciated. Thankyou for your time
Regards
Clive
Hello, On 21/08/2008 you
Hello,
On 21/08/2008 you have to go Hong Kong and buy a 2 entry visa wich is good for 90 days.
You can find the visa office's name, address here on this page. It is very close to China Ferry Port.16. Peking Road.
Take care
Steve
Hi Steve, I think the visa
Hi Steve,
I think the visa is only valid for 60 days and not 90 days, why? if you look closely at the visa, there will be a marking, a circle with a tick and there is a numeral 1 on it.
This means that you have already use one of the two entry visa which you have one left to go. In other words, when the 30days is up from the day u enter after you got your visa, you have one more left for another 30 days. Therefore total of visa is only for 60 days so better take note of that. Thanks
Fred
buddy, i guess Z visa you
buddy, i guess Z visa you are talking about is the work permit visa basd on which you get resident visa for 1 yr. i dont think you can get Z visa from outside. as per my experience. u need to come to china on visitor / business visa. get your hiring letter from your school and apply for a work permit. you might have to go through an interview session for formality after which you will be issued work permit ( red color small booklet ). note that you not be permanent employee of the firm as local law states that foriegner can have max 5 yrs work contract. based on which workpermit is recieved and you get 1 yr resident visa. after every 1 yr, you need to keep renewing it. best of luck.. hope this info helps you
It is my understanding that
It is my understanding that the law changed earlier this summer regarding where you may apply for a Z visa. It is now required that new Z visa applications be made in your home country. You may renew resident permits while in China, but for new Z applications you must do so from your home country.
