Unfortunately the company

Unfortunately the company looking for "caucasian" actors, actresses and extras probably does not really know the meaning of caucasian. It does NOT mean "white, european looking fair skinned, thin-nosed people". Arabs, Persians/Iranians, North India Aryans, black islanders in Micronesia are all "caucasian".
Therefore the ad should ask for "white caucasians" if that fits the mental picture of the advertiser.
Discrimination and prejudice based on ignorance are still very much alive in China as well as the USA huh? I should know as I'm an "American" living in China.

Couldn't have put it better

Couldn't have put it better myself,I am English UK. Clarification which is the responsibility of the advertiser to Research before going to press, therefore avoiding controversy?? and lawsuits?

The production company is

The production company is from France. They want white people for their film. I do believe that France isn't widely known for their extreme racism.

They requested white Caucasians, that's what they undoubtably want to hire, and I doubt if anyone else misundrestood their intention.

This has nothing to do with political correctness, semantics, or discrimination. There isn't legislation protecting against discrimination in this part of the world. If a company wants a Chinese female under 30 for the job they can advertise and get that person.

Not advertise as an equal opportunity employer and then hire the female under 30. It is more honest, and yes, there is prejudice everywhere in the world, as parents pass it down to their children.

Prejudice and discrimination should be waning at this juncture in our collective history, yet persists. It is wrong and injust, but advertisers should have the freedom to ask for what they want and not waste everyones time. You can waste your time "splitting hairs" over word definitions if you want to, but don't waste ours.

Americans fought hard for civil rights and for what? A quagmire of an overly politically correct judicial system, reverse discrimination, equal opportunity that often eliminates those most qualified in favor of racial quotas and a burgeoning prison system with a disproportionate number of people of color among others.

Sooo was this for the new

Sooo was this for the new Batman movie that I heard was going to be filmed late October in HK?

I am interested in how you

I am interested in how you are living abroad, this type of living greatly interest me. Do you have any advise or notes I could happen upon?

Come with an open mind. Be

Come with an open mind. Be ready for culture shock. Read up on the place you are going. Personally, I learned by trial and error what I needed to bring since this is my second time living in China...still could have done better planning. Some good things are the medicines you like. I came with lots of Nyquil and Dayquil. Also, I like thicker socks for sports and here they are a bit thinner than I like. Clothes are smaller here, so bring enough and the right kind to match the weather of the season(though there are some places carrying bigger sizes and you can have tailors copy clothes from magazines). Try to always remember you are more than a guest, you are a representative of your country and be respectful.
