U Bar has been making some changes in decoration and style. To start out the new Chinese new year they are bringing in a live band. BR Connection will be playing live there from Tuesday to Sunday every week beginning Friday February 1st. We are excited to see this Shenzhen staple bar making some improvements and will cover more changes in the near future. Read about the band below. Br Connection

Br Connection is a quite experimented band. With its splendid set list, based on contagious (and dancing) music, the band performs at several Brazilian stages, mostly in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro states, and has got the recognition and satisfaction of the audiences. Its set list brings songs of traditional Brazilian artists, such as Djavan, Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, Tom Jobim, Ary Barroso, Raul Seixas, Carmem Miranda, Elis Regina, Rita Lee, Marisa Monte and Ivete Sangalo, as well as brings international classic/modern pop/rock singers and bands, such as Phil Collins, Credence, Beatles, James Brown, Queen, Eagles, The Police, Toto, Yes, Jamiroquai, Maroon 5, Kylie Minogue, Gloria Gaynor, Jennifer Lopez, Black Eyed Peas, and many others.

The band’s charm comes from individuals skills of each member-

Aline Duque- Singer (Contralto). Powerful voice, easygoing performance. Very sympathetic in scene. Born to be singer. Her idols are Elis Regina, Phil Collins, Cindy Lauper;

Gisele Duque- Singer (Soprano). Smooth voice, perfectly tuned. Owns charisma like the greatest singers. Inspired by Gal Costa, Marisa Monte, Aretha Franklin and Joss Stone;

Zenrique- Bass player. Very dedicated, owns great technique. Plays acoustic guitar and keyboards as well. Studied bass with Ximba Uchiama, his greatest influence. Jaco, Arthur Maia, Marcus Miller and Geddy Lee are among his preferred musicians;

Fábio- Guitar player. Such an amazing musician, full of ability for harmonizing and soloing. Uses to hear Paul Gilbert, Michel Leme, Mozart Mello, Scott Henderson and Pat Metheny;

Adriano- Drummer. A virtuoso. Owning great technique, he plays as fast as a drummer can, always grooving. His idols: Mike Portnoy, Carlton Barret, Neil Peart and Cuca Teixeira

Band’s experience comes also from the tour throughout China (from September 2004 to March 2005), when got the responsibility of entertaining cosmopolitan audiences of Chinese hotels and nightclubs, such as Dream Hollywood (Suzhou), Mayfair Hotel (Shanghai), B. Boss Club (Guangzhou) and China City Pub (Xian).
Br Connection in scene exempts presentations. The group’s great performance, added to vivacity of each musician, always gets the spectators energized.
