DJ Jami 2 X WORLD DJ CHAMPION
The wonder kid known as DJ Jami has been on his grind and steadily putting in work in the DJ circles from such an early age. Whether it was mimicking other DJs in his family or tagging along at their gigs, he's been immersed in music and the lifestyle from a young age.
His prodigal rise coupled with an innate funk and swagger brought success very early on in his career. Barely into his high school years, as a seasoned veteran on the world DJ competition circuit, getting regularly flown to cities and countries around the world like Los Angeles, New York, and Germany. These travels and experiences expanded his view of what a thorough DJ is. As one of the founding members of world-recognized Nocturnal Sound Krew, Jami is one of the only DJs to ever win back-to-back World Titles from the International Turntablist Federation Team competition (2001 and 2002).
Alongside the different countries he’s traveled and played at, he’s also held down some of the most popular night spots across the nation including, but not limited to Shark Club in Coasta Mesa, Tabu in Las Vegas, Home Nightclub in St. Louis, The Standard & LAX in LA, and Level in Chicago – and playing alongside artists like NERD, Lupe Fiasco, The Roots, Mos Def, Common, Clipse, Diplo, Zebra and DJ AM. As confident as a world champion DJ can be, Jami is very humble, yet his swagger shines when behind two turntables – and he’s content on pushing all types of music with an unbiased appeal. Everything from Hip Hop, Soul, 80s, 90s, Miami bass, MashUP, House, Baltimore club, Hipster rock and regional club classics and mixes them with a slick turntablist sensibility.
With the same innate talent that brought him much success in competitions and multiple bookings across time zones, expect a Lebron-esque ascension in club land for DJ Jami. Bow down, the chosen one is here...
