Beach Party Shutdown

This past weekend's massive beach party to be held near Xichong beach did not last long. It was shut down early evening by the government with organizers shipping everyone back to the city by bus.
The organizers have posted a message on the their web site:

Announcement for Early Termination of “Pure”Summer Closing Beach Party 2008
To all our distinguished guests to the “Pure” Summer Closing Beach Party 2008:
Owing to the regulations of the local intendant, we had to put an early termination to
the “Pure” Summer Closing Beach Party held on Oct 18th, 2008. To all our guests, here
we sincerely make our apology, and expect for your understanding.

This party closing comes in the wake of a nightclub fire in Longgang district which killed at least 43 people. It has also resulted in many bar closings and re-openings as they tried to get up to fire code. The government claims to have found over 4,000 fire hazards found in Shenzhen's nightspots.

Hi All,
Me and 5 other friends travelled to this beach party specially all the way from Guangzhou. After arriving there at 18.00 o'clock the music was already shot down and there was no communication about what was going to happen. After few hours none of the organisers were there anymore and we had still no idea what was going to happen obvious was that they were allready breaking down everything). As I just read in this post the participants can get back their money.. does anybody has any clue were we could get back our money? Any valuable information will be very helpfull!

Hi all,
I was one a of all people who joined the beach ... without the party...
So I dont know how to get back the 200 RMB but that s not the most important.
I was so frustrated yesterday night... The place was nice, I really felt, seeing the place, organizers made a big effort, everything was there to spend a real good time, the best beach party in Sz ever...
I guess we won`t know the real reasons (fire risk ,have you ever seen sand takes fire ??, authorization missing, blablabla..).
I just want to tell the organizers, don`t give up...
I am just scared such government decisions will break people`s energy to organize that kind of events.
Please, we need that kind of party in Shenzhen...

nearly 50 of my friends went
nearly 50 of my friends went all the way to shenzhen to attend the party to see frankielam and dickylau and found out tht the party was CANCELLED... announcements werent made until 9. very disappointing, was looking forward to the great music, will it be held again? does anyone knw?
Well, we feel unfortunate
Well, we feel unfortunate for the organizers who had made all the wonderful preparations but didn't see it kick off. Meanwhile, we have witnessed the disappointed and angry faces of hundreds of participants. Therefore, i think the organizers should now focus on how to repay the participants, either accoriding to the tickets people are still in possession of, or according to ticket booking records. If the organizers deal with this well, i believe people would understand that it is not their fault, and they are sincere in apologizing, AND above all, only in that way will people still believe in them and support them in the many more coming activities.

Because of matters beyond control, the pure beach party had to put an early termination. As the sponsor, we sincerely appreciate the suggestions and criticism from our dear guests and friends. Once again, deeply sorry for the early termination, and hope you can go on supporting us. Pure party will be back for sure, to bring you a better party experience!
