Terminal A, B and Hall D at Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport will be temporarily closed from 10:00 P.M. Nov 27, 2013. All night flights on that day also will be suspended until 6:00 A.M. next day that the brand new Terminal C will be officially inaugurated, according to airport authority.

The area of the new Terminal C is about 451,000 square meters, which is triple the size current terminals combined is. It includes 62 boarding gates and can accommodate all existing models of planes in the world. A huge wifi system is used, which can be shared by about 3,000 people simultaneously.

In using the new terminal, passengers need to finish the boarding checking 45 minutes ahead of the departure time, which is 5 minutes earlier than it needed in old terminals. As a result, passengers for international flights are suggested to reach the airport 2 hours in advance while for the domestic flights 90 minutes.

Passengers can take many ways to the airport. However, the metro Line 11, which is supposed to be the direct metro line to the new terminal, is still under construction until 2016. Shuttle buses are provided from Airport East to Terminal C. What’s more, 10 coach routes with 160 numbers of runs each day are set to Hong Kong, Macau, Huizhou, Zhongshan and Dongguan etc.. Free shuttle bus service is also available for passengers who take ferry from Hong Kong and Macau at FuYong Port. The new Terminal is designed to handle 45 millions passengers a year by 2020.
