City ranked 4th in competitiveness

Shenzhen Daily has an article named "City ranked 4th in competitiveness" by Han Ximin.
Descriptions are quoted as below:

"SHENZHEN remained in the fourth position among the country’s most competitive cities, following Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing, an annual study conducted by the China Institute of City Competitiveness released in Hong Kong showed yesterday.

The institute studied the competitiveness of 295 cities in economy, education and technological advancement, business and financial market development, among other things.

Guangzhou, Taipei and Suzhou ranked fifth to seventh after Shenzhen.

Compared with last year’s ranking, the top 10 cities in competitiveness remain unchanged, institute chairman Gui Qiangfang said in Hong Kong.

Meanwhile, the city dropped to the second place in the competitive growth ranking, behind Shanghai, the second in 2009 rankings. Suzhou replaced Beijing in the third place this year. Hong Kong was regarded as the safest city in China, while Shenzhen was outside the top 30 for safety."
