Commuters forced to walk to work after their buses became caught up in a traffic snarl on Shenhui Road on Monday.

Traffic on the section from Buji Checkpoint to Danzhutou in Longgang District was held up from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Monday, forcing some 10,000 commuters to get off buses and walk. A series of car accidents and the prolonged roadworks in the Rongchao Garden section of Shenhui Road were blamed for the traffic jam.
