OCT-LOFT (Overseas Chinese Town)

OCT Loft which has been created from renovated factory buildings in the eastern part of OCT, covers a total area of 55,465 square meters. More than 95,571 square meters has been reserved for further development. This is where the artist hang out in Shenzhen from art galleries to jazz musicians you will find them here. The sprawling area contains many cafes, bars and restaurants for you to spend your weekend afternoons. A couple of weekends a month you can browse and buy local crafts on at the T Street Creative Market Suggested restaurants that you should check out in OCT-Loft are Art and Taste for northern cuisine including lamb, Very Siam for some rich and creamy curries, or Idutang for Italian pizza. Special unique bars in OCT Loft include Rosebank for the best cocktails and whisky collection, Penny Black Jazz Bar for live outdoor live jazz music. Idutang turns into a a bar and live music performance space at night as well. Original music and live touring bands can also be found at B10 Live. The main art gallery and center piece of OCT Loft is the OCT Contemporary Art Terminal (OCAT) and there are always big banners in Loft with the current exhibition that is going on at this gallery. Other smaller galleries are also hidden amongst the cafes.

This is a great area to explore as there are always hidden gems in OCT Loft and it is really the kind of chilled out relaxed area that expats prefer.
