Your best is going to the either Fusion Fitness in Shekou or the Total Fitness in coastal city.  You have to remember China is not like western countries when it comes to gym payment. There is NO gym at all which will allow you to pay month by month, they all require you to sign a 1 year contract at very least a 6 month. The best prices and best value for money would be fusion fitness down in Shekou due to the variety they offer, total fitness is also good for the money. The hotel gyms are ridiculously over priced so stay away from them and the rest of normal gyms are dog shit when it comes quality unless you like training with rusty bars and no AC.

So to sum up, best prices, best equipment is Fusion Fitness and Total fitness club. Fusion all speak English, highly professional, all internationally certified instructors and offer classes which i believe you can pay per class or buy a package or something and they have tones of different fitness classes.

There are many different levels of gyms etc...Fusion seems good, never been to total...there is a chain like Physical...but quality varies...you hve to bargain hard over the price...as with anything else you buy in China...try to get half of the first price offered to you...that is a general rule in EVERYTHING and you wont suffer too badly...
