Whenever you encounter a problem with the site, trouble shooting of the problem will be much more faster if we could see a screen shot of the problem page.
The following is a procedure on how to capture a screen when an error occurs:
- when you find a problem with a page, select the window for the page ( to make sure that the problem page is the active window)
- then press Ctrl+"Print Screen"
- then open up any image editor (Windows Paint, Photoshop, etc...)
- then press Ctrl+V
- then save the image as JPG, PNG or BMP format
- then when emailing the site admin or any of the site moderators of the problem, just attach the image file together with a detailed description of the problem.
- additional information that might help speed up the resolution to the problem will be:
- user account (username or email used when the problem occurred)
- browser (the internet browser you were using when the problem occured, ex. Firefox 3, Internet Explorer 6, Safari, Google Chrome, etc...) - also include the browser version if you know what the version is
- operating system used ( Windows, Mac OSX, Linux, etc...)
- time when the problem was encountered
These information together with the screenshot(s) will help expedite finding the solution to a problem whenever you see one in the site.
