Shenzhen Daily: Universiade starts 1,000-day countdown

SHENZHEN officially started the 1,000-day countdown to the 2011 Summer Universiade on Saturday at the Citizens’ Center.

The 26th Summer Universiade will be held in Shenzhen from Aug. 12 to 23 in 2011.

“Shenzhen promises to hold the most successful games in the history of the Universiade,” said Mayor Xu Zongheng at a ceremony unveiling the countdown board.
