Giving Birth in Shenzhen

I'm just wondering if anyone has had experience with giving birth in Shenzhen recently. I am 32 weeks pregnant and have been having prenatal care at Nanshan hospital. The doctor I'm seeing is very nice but I'm a bit concerned about how I will cope during my hospital stay, as I've been told that it will be nearly impossible for me to get a VIP room. From what I've been told most Chinese women will not use air-con after they give birth and the thought of being stuck in a sweltering hospital room for a week with no a/c in August fills me with dread. Also I've been told that family members must bring in food but my husband will be working for at least 3 of the 7 days and will only be able to come late in the evening. Will I be able to pay the nurses to bring me food? These may sound like inane questions but I'd rather know now so I can try to organize something.
I will be having a c-section and am wondering if anyone else has had this done in China and what was their experience.
Basically any information would be appreciated.

Hi, if you are a foreigner, why not consider HK as a birth place ... yes it does cost quite a bit but is no comparison to China hospitals.
There is an other big advantage ... the child will automatically become HK citizen. Therefore also in future free medical, free and good schooling, easy entry/exit to china.
In my opinion absolutely no other option. If you need further info post here

I gave birth in Shenzhen in 2008 and it's not really easy because of the language barrier. Before delivery, you must book a VIP room to a hopital where your doctor had suggested. You can enjoy the a/c on and the place is spacious. There will be some nurses who will serve and help you. You must at least have a nanny who can speak English and Chinese to make your life easy.

I gave birth at Shenzhen a year ago, in louhu hospital for mothers and kids. I ordered a vip room but because a Chinese holiday there was no place at vip room so I gave birth in the delivery room like chinese women. it was ok but because it wasn't place at vip I insisted to go home. For a week came to my house doctor to check me and the baby.
