Shenzhen Theatres: Experiencing Chinese Art with All Your Senses

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

Experience the good and privileged lifestyle without having to splurge on the expenses through entertainment with the Shenzhen Theatres. Visitors to such places are treated with a blast of finesse combined with sprinkles of Cantonese and the Hakka cultures.

Probably one of Shenzhen’s products that they are truly proud of, because of its world-class grandeur, is the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra. Playing over hundreds of Cantonese and foreign symphonies, they have been world-renowned and tourists must make sure to reserve seats before travelling to Shenzhen as it is guaranteed more often than not that shows are sold-out.

In the Shenzhen Grand Theatre, however, seating is almost always never a problem. The facility’s main hall has over a thousand and five hundred seats in its post modern designed enclave.  The same vast facility is home to the Shadu Song and Dance Hall. Relatively small compared to the main hall of the grand theatre, it still has the capacity to seat three hundred spectators. But the really cool aspect of the hall is its ability to allow more than two hundred performers to showcase their talents in one time. In the same immediate vicinity of the complex are ten well-maintained karaoke rooms where guests can sing and dance their hearts out privately. And if guests get famished with their dancing and singing, an on-site restaurant serves Cantonese cuisine to replenish their strength so that they may have another round of singing and dancing in almost no time.

If and when visitors are still hungry for music after the sun sets and the moon rises, there are a number of night clubs in the town of Shenzhen to head to. The Crystal Palace Song and Dance Club imitates the facilities of its counterparts in Hong Kong, because it was specifically built to give you a taste of Hong Kong without leaving the beautiful town of Shenzhen in case you still have itineraries for the next day. Located in Jingdu Hotel, this music club provides entertainment with convenience. You may stay up as late as you want and just check in to one of the rooms of the hotel, then wake up to a shopping spree the morning after as the hotel itself is located right smack in the middle of malls and restaurants.

Another music club that caters to the night owls is the aptly named Moonlight Song and Dance Club, which is an attraction in itself being the largest underground club in the town of Shenzhen. The main music hall of the club can comfortably accommodate more than 600 guests and has twenty-seven well-appointed private karaoke rooms for those who prefer to showcase their talents amongst their peers.

At Shenzhen, music lovers never run out of places to go to.
