ICIF 2011 Hall 2 – House of China’s Cultural Creative Solutions

The International Cultural Industries Fair of 2011 is the 7th annual cultural trade fair in China. It presents the evolution of Chinese Heritage and the improvement of the cultural industry in the region. China takes pride in its vast collection of Chinese artifacts originally owned by the prominent dynasties that ruled olden China. The passage of time did not change the way Chinese people treasured their origins, practices, customs, talents and growth.

The ICIF 2011 Hall 2 is the designated Creative living hall of the ICIF 2011. It covers 15,000 square meters of the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center. This hall showcases high-end Chinese cultural gifts, cultural products of Taiwan and tourism related articles and the like. The products found here are focused on creative living, designed to attract domestic and foreign visitors. This hall is handled by the Ministry of Culture. Activities inside the hall include the appraisal for innovative Award of Chinese Crafts and Arts Culture and Tourism and Handicrafts Design Competition. It also serves as staging area for opening ceremonies or new product release conferences and they also conduct appreciation and lectures on cultural works.

The Creative Living Hall is divided into seven areas. The first areas exhibit Taiwan’s Creative Cultural Works, inclusive of their export quality handicrafts, gifts, book publishing methods, Taiwanese creativity and ingenuity; their capability to produce animated games; the manner they preserve their culture for tourism and other related fields that cluster the cultural ancestry of Taiwan. The second segment of the 2nd Hall contains the cultural works from the provinces, cities and regions of China. This is an extension of the Government Groups exhibition from Hall 1. The third segment houses the high end gifts and presents, that have been crafted in metal and jade, exemplified artistic carvings, lacquer ware, jewelry, pottery and colored glazes, from Chinese embroidery to crystals and glasses, the collected Chinese paintings, a massive collection display of classical furniture, tea arts and ikebana. The other areas are dedicated to tourism handicrafts, offering tourists spots and souvenirs to take home, like local handicrafts, religious articles and tourism collections and other products and commodities that exhibit cultural innovations. A designated area for overseas cultural works is also part of the Hall 2, where pioneering cultural ventures and procurement institutions can display their own cultural products.

The last two segments of the Second exhibition hall are the areas for overseas buyers who will join the exhibition to do business related to the local cultural industry. And the last area will be a showroom for ICIF –based derivative products.
